Research

During the last 10 years, the research activity has been focused on the development of biochips and immunosensors dedicated to biomedical applications and pesticide detection.

We immobilize various types of molecules (e.g. proteins) on arrays, analyse images and quantify the signal. We also characterize the new analysis methods to identify their performances. At the same time, we perform the biofunctionalization  of the micro and nanoparticles of various materials: polymers, paramagnetic or gold particles.

Research Projects.

The Company is permanently investing in research and development and is involved in national research – development projects under partnerships with research institutes, universities and other companies, with a special focus on the development of IVD products.

DDS Diagnostic is certified for the research-development activity by ANCS (National Authority for Scientific Research) (Decision 9847/22.04.2010).

For over 15 years, our research-development activity covers the field of serum protein electrophoresis, immuno-reactions techniques: ELISA, CLIA, immunochromatography, biochips and immunosensors. Our main products are: serum protein agarose gel electrophoresis kits, ELISA kits, CLIA kits, rapid immunoagglutination and immunochromatography tests.

The development of these methods and of the specific diagnosis kits, represent the applied research sector of our company. Some methods/techniques were developed some 50 years ago yet they are still being largely used in laboratories all over the world and are permanently improved to increased performances. Gradually, however, these techniques will be replaced by more advanced technologies, which are currently, at global level, in a research stage.

The biochips as well as the immunosensors are manufactured through advanced state of the art technologies, based on innovative ideas of DDS Diagnostic’s specialists as well as to the access to the next-generation equipment, thanks to our collaborations with prestigious research institutes from Romania. We are specialised in the biofunctionalization of gold or nitrocellulose microarrays to quantifying analytes from human biological samples: antigens or antibodies.

Our partners

Another research line is the biofunctionalization of the micro or nanoparticles of various materials: polymers, paramagnetic or gold particles. These are used in the detection of certain antigen or antibody, biomarkers from biological human samples or in the selective marking of certain cells such as subpopulations of T lymphocytes.

To confirm and assess the success of the biofunctionalization process, during, as well as upon the completion thereof, we use advanced characterization methods: RAMAN spectroscopy, infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy with attenuated total reflectance – FTIR-ATR, atomic force microscopy – AFM, scanning electron microscopy – SEM, transmitted electron microscopy –TEM, spectrophotometry UV-VIS, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The collected data are processed, interpreted and correlated.
